Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. Here is a plain-language explanation of what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

Effective date: May 3, 2026

Introduction

Welcome to Marriage Rediscovery ("we," "our," or "us"). We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry that presents the Retrouvaille program for couples whose marriages are in crisis. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or participate in our programs.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Full stop.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We collect information that you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Register for a program or weekend retreat
  • Contact us through our website
  • Complete any form on our site

This information may include:

  • Your name (and your spouse's name, for registrations)
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Any other details you choose to share in your message

When you submit a contact form, your message is relayed to our team via a secure server-side form handler. We use Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) to deliver those messages to our staff. Your message is not stored in a third-party marketing platform.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the site, including:

  • IP address (anonymised where possible)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Referring URL (how you arrived at the site)

We collect this information through Microsoft Clarity, a behavior analytics service. See the Behavior Analytics section below for more detail.

Behavior Analytics: Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors navigate and interact with our website. Clarity creates anonymised session recordings and heatmaps that help us identify pages that are confusing or content that is not reaching the people who need it.

Clarity does not collect personally identifiable information. The data collected is governed by Microsoft's Privacy Statement. You can opt out of Clarity analytics by visiting privacy.microsoft.com.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising tracking tools on this site.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Administer program registrations and coordinate weekend retreats
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Provide follow-up support and resources after you participate in a program (with your consent)
  • Improve our website and content based on how visitors engage with it
  • Comply with legal obligations

Legitimate Interests

Where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis for processing, we have weighed those interests against your privacy rights:

  • Program administration: Processing registration information is necessary to organize and deliver our retreats.
  • Follow-up support: We contact participants after programs to offer additional resources. You may opt out at any time.
  • Website improvement: Anonymised analytics help us make the site more helpful for couples seeking support.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We take your privacy seriously:

  • We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
  • We do not share your email address or contact details with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • We do not disclose your information to other organizations for commercial use.

The only circumstances in which we share information are:

  • Service providers: We use Amazon SES to send emails on our behalf. These providers process your data solely to deliver the service and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.
  • Protection of rights: We may disclose information when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our organization, staff, or others.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Form submissions are processed server-side and transmitted via encrypted connections.

No internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to our website. However, we take reasonable precautions to protect your data and will notify you if a breach affecting your personal information occurs.

Data Retention

We retain your contact information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, typically the duration of your engagement with our programs plus a reasonable follow-up period. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so promptly unless we are required by law to retain it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of any non-essential communications at any time
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. We will respond within two business days.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to operate the community admin area securely and to collect anonymised analytics data via Microsoft Clarity. For a detailed breakdown of every cookie this site sets, please see our Cookie Policy.

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our site or practices change. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you directly if we hold your contact information.
