Marriage Rediscovery

Who we are

Our presenting teams

Couples who have been through what you are going through, telling you what worked.

Volunteer presenting couples sit together in a modern living room, sharing their story and listening.

Lived experience, not credentials

Each Marriage Rediscovery weekend is led by three couples and a member of the clergy. Catholic in foundation, welcoming couples of any faith or no faith. The team couples have lived through serious trouble in their own marriages and came through it on this program. They are not professional speakers, marriage therapists, counselors, or group discussion leaders. They are real couples telling their own stories. This is central to who we are as a ministry and how we differ from professional programs.

What the teams talk about

During the weekend, team members open their own lives and tell you, plainly:

  • What was actually wrong in their marriage
  • What they tried that did not work
  • What they tried that did
  • What it has cost to stay, and what it has been worth

You can read what couples carry out of that experience in our success stories.

What you are not being asked to do

Two things stop most couples from coming. They are afraid of being judged, and they are afraid of being asked to perform their pain in front of strangers. Neither happens here.

  • The presentations are stories from the team, not lectures
  • You will never be asked to speak in front of the group
  • Every conversation between you and your spouse is private
  • Each marriage on the weekend is treated as its own thing

A note on faith

The presenting couples are Christian. The weekend is about marriage, not doctrine. The communication tools work for any couple, regardless of what they do or do not believe. Read more about our Christian foundation and why couples of every faith are welcome. After the weekend, many presenting couples stay involved through our community. For the history and structure behind all of this, see about us.
