Retrouvaille Cost: What the Weekend Asks of You
No couple has ever been turned away from the Retrouvaille program because of finances.

How much does Retrouvaille cost? The weekend itself is offered on a donation basis. Couples give what they can. No couple has been turned away for inability to pay since 1977. The presenters, the coordinators, the support staff are all volunteers. Nobody on the team draws a salary from this program. Marriage Rediscovery is a federated network of 501(c)(3) non-profit communities, each self-supporting, each independently incorporated. Your contribution helps cover materials, the venue, meals, lodging, and the program's continued availability for the next couple who needs it. Below is how the registration fee works, what is included, and what to do if the fee is a hardship. If you want to compare options before deciding, that page walks through the main alternatives side by side.
If you're still deciding whether the program is a fit, reading about the program overview is a good starting point, and whether it fits describes the kinds of marriages the program is designed to help. If cost is a factor in your comparison, how it compares to counseling and the success rate data are worth reading together before you decide.
If you searched for an independent option, see a Retrouvaille alternative. For a neutral side-by-side of Marriage Rediscovery and Retrouvaille International, Retrouvaille vs. Marriage Rediscovery puts them next to each other as peers.
The registration fee
Each community charges a non-refundable registration fee per couple that reserves your spot at the weekend. The amount varies by community, mostly because lodging costs and average attendance differ from one place to the next. Contact the community nearest you for their current figure.
What's included
Your local Marriage Rediscovery community arranges and pays for your meals and your hotel room during the weekend. The registration fee is all-inclusive for the weekend retreat itself. No hidden costs for food, lodging, or materials.
Financial assistance is always available
No couple is ever denied the chance to work on their marriage because money is tight. If the fee is a hardship, contact the community you're registering with before you give up. They will work with you. The point of this program is to help marriages, not collect fees.
Limited space, so reserve early
Each weekend has a limited number of spots. Reservations are confirmed first-come, first-served, and weekends often fill into a waiting list. As soon as both spouses agree to come, how to get started and register.
Weekend donation
At the end of the weekend, couples are invited to make a donation. The money goes back into the program so the next couple who can't afford the fee gets to come anyway. That pay-it-forward is how the Retrouvaille program has kept running since 1977. Each community is its own 501(c)(3) and provides receipts; donations may be tax-deductible. Ask your accountant.
A non-profit ministry
Each Marriage Rediscovery community is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit run by volunteers. We are self-supporting: no church or denomination funds us. The money comes from the couples who register and from the couples who, after the weekend, decide to put something back in.
Everyone you meet at a weekend is a volunteer. Presenting couples, coordinators, support staff. Nobody is paid. They give the time because somebody gave it to them. We transform marriages by teaching couples how to do the work themselves, by example. This is not a business. It is a ministry.
If you can't afford the fee, tell us. We will work with you. Your marriage matters more than the registration cost.
